Devotion. Acts 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) The peace with God through Jesus Christ spoken of is not some transient feeling. It is a deep, lasting change that vibrates through our entire being. Since the heart is at the center of a person's faculties, its condition affects the emotions and the will. A marked contrast exists between the attitudes and actions of a sinful person and the one who Haas heard and accepted the gospel and. Experiencing its heart peace. That fact forcefully impressed itself upon Lilian one day when she stopped by to see her friend Betty Boon. Betty was living with Lim family. Her Christian witness had transformed their Buddhist home. When Lillian arrived Betty was not at home, and she found Mr Lim praying. Since his wife was not yet a christian, the Buddhist altar was still a prominent place in their living room. Because of his still imperfect understanding of prayer, Mr Lim was standing before the altar repeating the prayer. Lillian and Mr Lim talked about prayer and the change in his life since he had accepted Jesus. The glow on his face made it evident that he was rejoicing in his new found faith in the saviour. So Lillian asked, "Mr Lim, what difference has it made in your life now that you have become a Christian?." Without hesitation he pointed to his heart with his index finger and said, "I have such a peace in my heart!" One unfailing mark of a Christian is the reality of. Heart peace. When Jesus went away He promised, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you" (John 14:27). Nothing He could have done for us would have been more needed or more appreciated than peace of heart. Contrast His gift and the fleeting pleasures of our world. They may satisfy for a few years, but then follows the bitter aftertaste and the gnawing depression. The heart peace Jesus gives us is lasting and satisfying, an antidote for anxiety and fear, a guarantee of stability and assurance. It is far more wonderful than we can explain. And it can be yours by experience. *Always Remember, There is Hope*
